Abstract

The main attention is focused on the analysis of decisions and practical measures taken under President D. Trump with a view to withdrawing the United States from the nuclear agreement with Iran. The conclusion is based on the fact that the administration of D. Trump’s decision to withdraw from the nuclear agreement with Iran is not based on Iran’s claims of failing to implement the FIDD, but is explained by Washington’s desire to curb Tehran’s growing influence in the Middle East and achieve isolation of Iran through sanctions and support for the anti-Iranian coalition of regional states. It was concluded that the decision of D. Trump to restore all US sanctions would not lead to serious economic pressure that could force Tehran to comply with the political demands of Washington. In the future, the scenario of the administration of D. Trump, in which the Iranian regime capitulates or collapses under pressure from sanctions, is unlikely. However, by his decision at the international level, he created more problems for the United States than for Iran, which received undoubted diplomatic advantages. Instead of global pressure, which the Iranian leadership experienced before agreeing to limit its nuclear research, as recorded in the UFIS, Tehran today is sympathetic and looks like a victim of American “fraud”.
