- Abstract
- The article of G.M. Friedlander “Alexander Genis against Solzhenitsyn,” not a lifetime publication of the scholar, was written in response to the controversy surrounding the New York speech of A.I. Solzhenitsyn in 1993 (subsequently the text of the speech was printed under the title “Playing on the strings of emptiness”). Friedlander's article echoes the discussion, which had originated in scholarly critical press, of the problems of postmodernism as a phenomenon on the Russian soil.
