Abstract
This article is devoted to the evolution of Russian literary theory throughout 20th century. Two main aspects of this dynamics the article covers are, on the one hand, the most important schools, namely Russian Formalism, Marxist Literary Criticism and Structuralism; and on the other hand, so-called “out-of-school” literary theory. The latter is considered to be a complicated unity based on common epistemological and ideological research assumptions.
