- Perceiving in the title character of the novel features, which are common to all mankind, as well as specifically Russian qualities, the author of this article draws attention to the folkloristic, archetypical, and mythological levels of context, in which Oblomovs figure - still as large as life - gets bestowed with certain artistic meaning that transcends transient particularities.
