Abstract
The article dwells on comparing the roles played by Knut Hamsun and Leonid Andreyev in Russian lite ary process at the turn of the 20th century. Typologically similar features in the poetics of both writers and collation of their names in the criticism of that period are analyzed, revealing refl exes of a direct impact of the Norwegian classic's artistic system on the Russian author. Examination of these problems is preceded by a review of general lines of the Russian Silver Age reception of Hamsun and his connections with Russian literature on the whole.
