- Abstract
- The article focuses on translation techniques used to produce a Slavonic version of the Synaxarium (a compilation of hagiographies: vitae sanctorum). We consider various translations rather than transliteration of toponyms, ethnonyms, and personal names, as well as different renderings of certain Greek words in the target text. We introduce new linguistic data, which helps identify, whether this translation is of East or South Slavonic origin.
