- Abstract
- The paper is concerned with the genre characteristics in Peter Handke's novel Don Juan, which displays features of both essay and poetry. Detailed analysis of these features and their synthesis in the novel enables us to present a new genre hybrid - a poetic novel-essay devised by the Austrian writer.
