Abstract
The article addresses the issue of whether or not it is worthwhile to split Russian atelic verbs into two separate actionality classes, as it is usually proposed in typology-oriented literature. To find an adequate solution, a number of test procedures that might be used to reveal the difference between states and atelic processes (Vendlerian activities) are analyzed. The analysis shows the infeasibility of a strictly dichotomic approach to Russian atelic verbs.
