- Abstract
- The purpose of this article is to draw attention to texts of plays because up till now this material has never been the focus of linguistic analysis and, moreover, has never been studied from the point of view of discourse analysis; to describe peculiar features of their organization alongside with titles of plays, lists of their characters, stage directions of various types and so on. In the long run, all these help to understand the possibilities of the cognitive-and-discourse approach to the new material, to present discourse as the highest reality of the language and to define new directions in its analysis.
