- Abstract
- Drawing parallels between Dostoevsky and Villiers de l’Isle-Adam is made possible thanks to M. Voloshin’s oeuvre. The article deals with the analogies between Dostoevsky’s characters and personages of Villiers’s drama “Axel”, which Voloshin points out in his critique. Some ideas and images of Voloshin’s poetry, which look back to Dostoevsky’s and Villiers de l’Isle-Adam’s works, are noted. The article also investigates Villiers’s creative rethinking of the chapter “The Grand Inquisitor” of the novel “The Brothers Karamazov”.
