Abstract

This article, focusing on Slavic vocabulary and phraseology, explores the derivative system springing from the Slavic *kož- and *skor-. “Skin” as an “integument” and as a “container” embraces such polar opposites as “internal – external”, “personal – alien”, “sensual – somatic”, etc., there by pointing ambivalent ways for semantic derivational processes.
