- Abstract
- In Czech, Slovak, Serbian, Croatian and Russian languages there are two predicates denoting understanding: the old Slavic verb *orzumĕti and verbs with primary meaning 'to catch'. This opposition reflects two categories of understanding 'to understand meaning' and 'to catch sense'.
