Abstract
The article deals with the representation of body and space in L. Andreev's The Black Maskers. The play could be considered a radical artistic experiment in terms of theatrical embodiment of the human mind. The main concepts of the pan-psychological theater, an idea realized by the writer in the 1910s, could be traced in the work. The present article examines the following questions: the role of the body, the expansion of the space of consciousness, the methods of embodying the inner world of man in the state of crisis, and so on.
