Abstract
The problem of the relationship between a cycle and a fragment is considered by the example of S. S. Blicher's poetic cycle “Birds of passage. The Concert Of Nature”. The cycle in question exists as a single whole, and as divided into separate poems, or fragments. The compilers of the anthologies published excerpts from the original cycle. The depth and diversity of the poems led to the appearance of new, shorter cycles, based on the cycle, written by the author. Music has played a major role in shaping of Blicher's works in the form of a cycle and its fragments.
