- Abstract
- To clarify the aspects of the term 'zeugma' and to offer a more precise definition, the article puts forth a contrastive analysis of zeugma and a number of allied schemes (such as hypozeuxis, ellipsis etc.); it juxtaposes and systematically arranges the zeugma varieties, following the quantitative, positional, level, functional, grammatical and other parameters; and it examines the respective norms of usage and stylistically relevant deviations.
