- Abstract
- Is the syntactic category of a word determined mainly by its stem or endings? In this paper the question is explored in reference to Adyghe (North-West Caucasian), a language that lacks category distinction, or predicateargument flexibility. To consider the problem, I analyze a particular construction type in which a nominal stem can be used with the verbal inflectional morphology.
