- Abstract
- The plot of the draft Alex: he has a lover is analyzed, the omitted link has been reconstructed. The author argues that this draft is a particular case of a phenomenon typical of Lermontov which he terms an abnormal plot: to succeed in the struggle against ones, one should help him to realize his plan. Comparison of the draft with Two Brothers and Princess Ligovskaya leads to the conclusion that it was written in 1836, thus making possible its more exact dating than it has been assumed.
