- Abstract
- The author calls into question Bunin's alleged indifference to contemporary philosophy. The paper presents a comparison of Bunin's work with Lev Shestov's writings showing there was a certain typological affinity between them (their views of death, love, rationality, etc.). It is demonstrated that in some cases it may be assumed to be an indication of Shestov's direct influence on Bunin's outlook on life.
