- Abstract
- The article shows how the Gogolesque traditions were carried on by Ilya Ilf and Evgeny Petrov in their novels “The Twelve Chairs” and “The Little Golden Calf”. The significant Gogol’s impact is evident in the generic handling of storyline, in the structural singularities of the dilogy, in the use of the satirical dominanta, in the shaping of characters, in the narrative style and in the onomasticon.
