- Abstract
- This article discusses the use of the dactylic endings in the Russian poetry in the first quarter of the 20 thcentury.There are examined the texts of Nine authors: N. Aseev, A. Akhmatova, K. Balmont, N. Gumilev, N. Klyuev, O. Mandelstam, S. Parnok, B. Pasternak, and I. Severyanin. The frequency of occuring of dactylic endings in these texts has been summed up in special tables and analyzed. This article focuses on two particular questions: ‘What parts of speech are used to form the dactylic rhymes?’ and ‘What grammatical forms do these parts of speech have?’. According to the results of this research, the dactylic ending is a distinguishing feature of an individual poetic language and a significant parameter,which characterizes a historical epoch in general.
