- Abstract
- The article considers the particularities of the narrative structure of Gogol’s Diary of a Madman, which have not been previously addressed by researchers. The author argues that the mad logic of the hero runs parallel to the logic of the narrative grotesque. The interaction of the grotesque narrative with the grotesque reality is viewed as one of the most important factors affecting semantic structure of the story.
