- Abstract
- The article examines 'inventions' (invenciones, invenções) - a syncretic, visually-poetic genre form, current in a festive culture and literatures of the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America in the 15th and 16th centuries. The author devotes special attention to the name of researched genre form, its meaning reconstruction in the context of historical semantics, and functions of the concept invention in the late Middle Ages and Renaissance.
