- Abstract
- The article characterizes the scholarly heritage of the outstanding historian-urbanist, literary historian and the author of fundamental interdisciplinary studies N.P. Antsiferov (1889–1958). It is focussed on the spiritual and cultural context of the formation of his methodology of “urbanistic literary criticism” – the scholarly approach towards a “city text” in Russian literature. It is the first time that material from his dissertation “Problems of Urbanism in Russian literature” is brought to light.
